Wilderness Expedition Dentistry is a branch of medicine that addresses prevention, assessment and management of accidents and emergencies associated with the orofacial region in remote settings where definitive care is often days or weeks away.
Adventure racing , extreme sports and endurance events poses a risk to oral health. Prevention of dental problems in endurance athletes is something we all should aspire. Primary dental first aid training for non medics supporting endurance events is a necessity. This module was constructed as a staff training module for Rat Race Adventure Sports. It aims to train them in prevention and management of these increasingly common issues.
